ABOUT US
PHT Lighting Design is a woman-owned lighting design consultancy based in New York City. We collaborate with architects, landscape architects, interior designers, and property owners to design customized illumination for built environments. Our work spans many typologies and scales including public institutions, outdoor spaces, and private homes.
Our award-winning design team holds a core belief that thoughtfully designed lighting will create significant positive impacts on our daily lives. We strive to craft inventive and elegant lighting solutions that support our clients’ business identities, enhance their property value, and improves the occupants' experience and well-being.

ABOUT Peiheng
In 2006, Peiheng Tsai founded PHT Lighting Design. Originally from Taipei, Peiheng initially moved to New York to pursue her graduate studies at Columbia University earning a Master of Architecture at GSAPP.
With her architectural training and cross-cultural understanding, Peiheng brings a granular insight to the design process enabling a seamless workflow within a multi-disciplinary design team.
APPROACH
Lighting is the invisible force that guides our perceptions of spaces. As people spend prolonged hours indoors and rely on artificial lighting to extend the activities into the night, a sensitive and studied approach is needed to in revealing the true spirit of the physical environment while meeting the physiological and psychological needs of clients and end-users.
Our design process involves research, experimentation and curiosity. We employ physical models, fixture samples, full-scale mock-ups, hand sketching, as well as digital simulation and renderings to visualize the lighting studies.
